THE 5 BASIC CARE TO HAVE WITH YOUR GUITAR

The basics of the basics: treat your guitar well (and your bass, your cavaquinho, your drums, your uquelele, etc). Beats cause scratches and splinters , and may detonate your instrument. Never leave your instrument lying around – in bed, for example – always keep them in bags.
For cleaning, use a dry cloth. Products like furniture polish and etc can take away the color of the guitar and even cause infiltrations in the wood. Use lint-free cloths (Perfex, for example) to wipe both above and below the strings. If you want a better cleaning, it is recommended to clean whenever you finish playing, as our fingers generate a lot of oil that oxidize the strings over time.
The heat and humidity are enemies guitar. Keep it away from both. Again, never use a wet cloth to clean the ropes (they will rust) and neither the body (the wood will buckle). Also do not leave in very hot places or in the sun for a long time that the arm can also warp.
Strings, body and arm : there are specific products for cleaning these parts like GHS Fast Freet, Dunlop String Cleaner, Gibson Pump Polish and etc. When in doubt, buy one from a well-known and trusted brand.
To clean the bridge, the same type of basic cleaning (dry flannel) is recommended. In some bridges (such as the tremolo) it is recommended to pass an antioxidant (WD 40, for example) on the threads so that they do not catch with time.
